Founded in 1965, Lizardos today is owned and managed by professionals who are dedicated, knowledgeable, and creative individuals who are committed to their staff and clients. They continue to follow the values and principles that have defined Lizardos for more than 5 decades. They work collaboratively sharing ideas to impact, strengthen, and provide optimal design solutions for our clients’ diverse project needs.

George Lombardo

George A. Lombardo, P.E., President and CEO at Lizardos Engineering has more than 30 years of engineering experience. Mr. Lombardo manages all administrative functions and provides quality assurance and quality control. A graduate of Polytechnic University in mechanical engineering and a LEED accredited professional, his expertise and knowledge of specialized mechanical systems design includes HVAC, central utility plant design, building automation, energy modeling, laboratory ventilation, pharmaceutical, clean and sterile facility design, pharmaceutical water systems, building automation, process automation, and construction administration.

George A. Lombardo, P.E.

John E. Lizardos, P.E., Sr. Vice President

John Lizardos, P.E., Sr. Vice President at Lizardos Engineering has more than 35 years of experience designing mechanical HVAC systems for institutional and corporate clients. As project manager and mechanical engineer, John has designed HVAC systems for clients including The Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, New York City School Construction Authority, hospitals in the Catholic Health Services network, Suffolk County Community College, Northwell Health, Nassau University Medical Center, etal. A LEED Accredited Professional, Mr. Lizardos has served as project manager for numerous LEED certified designs throughout the metropolitan area. Mr. Lizardos is an active Member of ASHRAE and is an ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP). Mr. Lizardos is licensed in 7 states and recognized by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).

Ralph Aldorasi, P.E., Sr. Vice President

Ralph Aldorasi, P.E., Sr. Vice President at Lizardos has more than 30 years of electrical engineering experience. A graduate of Polytechnic University in electrical engineering, his expertise includes electrical power generation, distribution, emergency power, critical utilities, computer room, fire alarm, lighting, communications and security. A LEED GA, his experience extends to commercial buildings, data centers, collegiate, healthcare and transportation facilities. His long-time clients include, Altice USA, Northwell Health, Major League Baseball, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Marios C. Tinis, P.E. , Sr. Vice President

Marios Tinis, P.E. is a Sr. Vice President at Lizardos with more than 35 years of experience in electrical engineering and project management services for infrastructure renovation projects for collegiate, health care and corporate clients including New York University, Columbia University, Regen Labs, Farmingdale State College, Lenox Hill Hospital, and Northwell Health. His expertise includes Type 1 EES Separation of Power, bioscience, emergency generators, paralleling switchgear and 5kV distribution. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York. As an adjunct professor at New York University, Mr. Tinis teaches electrical engineering. Mr. Tinis is licensed in 7 states and recognized by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)

Andrew B. Dubel, P.E., Associate Vice President

Andrew Dubel, P.E. is an Associate Vice President at Lizardos with more than 16 years of engineering experience in the design and construction of mechanical systems including HVAC, Central Plants, and Humidification. A graduate of The University of Maryland in Mechanical engineering, He is a LEED accredited professional. He manages the staff in the New York City Office and his expertise includes energy modeling, audits and energy saving designs. He has competed energy master plans for clients including Brookhaven National Laboratory and Lenox Hill Hospital. His client experience includes Farmingdale State College, SUNY Purchase, Hunter College, Stony Brook Medical Center, NYU Langone, Altice USA and NYC Health and Hospitals Corp.

Dirk L. Anderson, P.E., Associate Vice President

Dirk Anderson, P.E. is an Associate Vice President at Lizardos with more than 16 years of engineering experience in the design and construction of building electrical systems. A graduate of The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in electrical and computer engineering, He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a certified Fire Protection Engineer (NICET). He is an adjunct professor at NYU teaching Electrical Systems Design II. Licensed in nine (9) states, his experience includes master planning, facility assessments, medium voltage and low voltage systems, electrical infrastructure, emergency generator and PV Solar System. Mr. Anderson has served as project manager/electrical engineer for clients including Farmingdale State College, Northwell Health, Memorial Sloan Kettering, ProHealth Care NY, Suffolk County DPW, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Matthew R. Liff, P.E., Associate Vice President

Matthew Liff, P.E. is an Associate Vice President at Lizardos with more than 13 years of engineering experience in the design and construction of mechanical systems including HVAC, utility plants, building automation systems for university and health care facilities. His expertise includes building/facility assessments. He is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Mechanical engineering and is licensed in 8 states. He has designed and provided construction administration for clients including Columbia University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Care, Huntington Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, NYU Langone and Farmingdale State College.

Patrick Tennant, P.E. is an Associate Vice President at Lizardos with more than 13 years of engineering experience in the design and construction of mechanical systems including HVAC and Central Plants, as well as commissioning and sustainability services. A graduate of Notre Dame in Mechanical engineering, he is licensed in 5 states. Mr. Tennant is a Certified Building Commissioning Professional and Certified Energy Manager. He has designed, commissioned and provided construction administration for clients including Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, NYU Langone Long Island, Huntington Hospital, Kedrion Biopharma, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Steve S. Sonmez, P.E., Associate Vice President

Steve Sonmez, P.E. is an Associate Vice President at Lizardos with more than 23 years of engineering experience in the design and construction of mechanical systems including utility plants, HVAC systems, piping, building automation, etc. for corporate, educational, municipal, healthcare and laboratory buildings. A graduate of The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in mechanical engineering, he also has a Master’s degree from NYIT in Energy Management. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Building Commissioning Professional. Licensed in 5 states, his experience includes master planning, building/facility assessments, HVAC, central utility plants, energy saving design, commissioning and validation. Mr. Sonmez has served as project manager/mechanical engineer for clients including Wildlife Conservation Society (The Aquarium at Coney Island, Prospect Park Zoo), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He has commissioned MEP systems for universities, healthcare facilities, municipal facilities and laboratories. As an adjunct professor at Everglades University he teaches energy, geothermal and mechanical engineering courses.

An experienced detail and technical designer, Bob brings more than three decades of experience in the design and construction of pharmaceutical and laboratory facilities. His expertise begins in the early planning stages and continues through start-up, commissioning and validation.

Riza Susel, P.E., F.P.E.

Riza Susel has more than a decade’s worth of experience in the design and implementation of plumbing and fire protection systems. His expertise includes fire suppression and life safety systems including those related to supply and distribution. He also specializes and
holds certifications for specialty plumbing and medical gas systems for healthcare facilities.
